QOD #24: Are you more concerned with having something or giving something? 

This is a short film by Douglas Gautraud about how his mother become the owner of a motorcycle. In a mere five minutes, he details the lives of his grandfathers and how he was inspired by them and wanted to connect to their lives. His quest culminated in the purchase of a motorcycle. Which did not make his mother very happy. At all.

Through personal discovery and reflection, Douglas realized that what he was ultimately inspired by was the gifts that his grandfathers gave to others. And while he was concerned with having something, they were concerned with giving something.

QOD #23 : What's your favorite mashup?

I love that technology allows us to blend great things in a very creative way. How did the mixology of two or more seemingly disparate things become funny? I think finding and following the similarities is actually where the magic happens. Humans are sophisticated enough to explore the nuance. Has anyone ever done a study of mashups? Now that would be interesting.

QOD #18: Do you live in the moment?

A reminder from a friend today, "live in the present because life is not permanent, and we should not look too far back or only forward, but live each day in a conscious way." Thoughtful words, because for the most part - things will all work out according to plan, His plan, of course.

As a kid, we had a neighbor who would babysit. She told me that one evening, someone, not a friend, had dedicated the Eric Carr song, "All by myself" to her on the radio. She wasn't happy about the poke - but we did laugh at the irony, as she was a social and fun teen. Me? I never minded being alone, as it often gave me time to reflect on and plan important things. But I always managed to live the present and accept the gift of each day.

This guy made use of his time 'alone' by putting together this smashing video, all by himself -- enjoy!
