QOD #15: What is your favorite poem?

I tend to be partial to a namesake, Emily Dickinson. This is one that always speaks to me....

"Hope" is the thing with feathers--
That perches in the soul--

QOD: #14 : Are you His?

QOD #13 : Are you good with change?

Change is never easy. Frankly, it's very often quite hard. As change is not always our own choice. I tend to look at change from the point of view that whenever God closes a door, he opens a window. And there is usually a bright, boundless horizon in sight. But perhaps we don't see it at first. Be patient!

This video from A.1. about their name change was clever, and of the moment. They even launched it on YouTube - brilliant!

QOD #12 : Knowing what you know now, what kind of advice would you give your younger self?

Like Richard Branson says, "Life is like a camera, just focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don't work out, just take another shot." http://virg.in/llk

I might have told myself to take more chances and to visit more places. I probably would have said:

• Travel the world
• Education is everything, learn every day
• Exercise more; dance all the time
• Eat less junk; drink less wine
• Save your money
• Buy fewer, high-quality things 
• Be generous with your time and expertise
• Plan for your future
• Be spontaneous
• Love deeply

But for a gal from Jersey, I'm pretty pleased with where I've ended up. How about you?

QOD #11: Do you embrace the chaos?

I love finding random goodness on the internet. My job is all about the internet, so I spend an inordinate amount of time doing what I call 'Forensic Research' for sales. 

The other day, while researching an event and the speakers, I followed the link to a corporate consulting site, but also looked further to find some samples of the person's writing style. I came across this little piece of goodness by Steve Tobak on Inc. 

It's a good reminder...

QOD #10: Do you play an instrument?

I played flute, piccolo and saxophone growing up. Marching band was great fun, and in High School I learned to play sax specifically to join the Jazz Band. I've loved blues-y music ever since.

One thing I always wanted was to really learn how to play the piano. This is 5+ minutes of awesome!  Play me, I'm yours!

QOD #9: What's your art?

Do you create, write, make, do something that constitutes art? Do you normally only think of visual arts in the form of paintings, sculptures, prints, photography and other visual art forms?

According to Wikipedia, "Art is a diverse range of human activities and the products of those activities; ...Music, theatre, film, dance, and other performing arts, as well as literature and other media such as interactive media, are included in a broader definition of art or the arts.[1]" 

One of my favorite authors, pundits, experts, Seth Godin says "“Art isn't only a painting. Art is anything that's creative, passionate, and personal. And great art resonates with the viewer, not only with the creator."

We are all creators of something interesting and unique. Have you figured out what art is yours?
