QOD #31: What's your anthem?

For me, this song says it all. I don't really think Pharrell Williams and his hat had any clue that this snappy tune would become an anthem for all, young and old, wise and learning, found and searching.

It just doesn't get any better than this awesomeness. Clap along and enjoy! #Cannonball #Happy

QOD #30: Do you work smarter or just harder?

For those of us who are what I call 'knowledge workers', this is a good thing to ask yourself and analyze on a regular basis. I know everyone has lots of tips/tricks and processes for getting things done on a daily basis. But if you actually sit back and take stock every so often, you just might find a better way .

When I have a lot to do - more than my normal routine, what helps me is when I do 3 things:
  1. Make a list - include due dates
  2. Prioritize - based upon the deadlines
  3. Say 'No' - to non urgent items that can be managed another time

These brief steps can help you be more productive and also more pro-active. Try it and let me know how you fare.

QOD #29 :: Isn't human nature interesting?

And telling.

Did you ever wonder why some people are so negative that they feel the need to 'school' others in a mean way when a simple 'no thank you' will do?

Leaders lead - haters hate.

Me? I want to be seen as an original - a leader. Although, I've been called "The Velvet Hammer," and I suppose it is my gentle way of delivering constructive criticism. A skill that is learned, not divined. Being a manager and managing people allowed me to hone that subtle, yet very important, skill. Also, being a parent has really helped me learn to take a minute to gain the proper perspective and see things from someone else's point of view.

Mentor. Perspective. Positivity. My internal mantra and what I filter things through.

Try it. You may find it effective.

Have you ever had a martini in a Maraschino cherry jar? Definitely an original!

QOD #26: Are you enough? I know I am!

Later this month I will be attending my very first BlogHer Conference. It is the 10th anniversary and the party planning is in full force. The organizers do a great job helping attendees keep up with other attendees and sponsors through regular email communications, the site and via a private Facebook group.

One announcement in particular was very encouraging and, I hope, indicative of the environment for the event. In partnership with Skype, they are building the BlogHer Buddy Group System. What a terrific way to blend alumni with newbies! Through a combination of Chat Groups and Veteran-to-Newbie introductions the goal of connecting attendees before, during and hopefully after will be fulfilled. Sign up here.

In today's email update, I also found out about this all-women band called The Mrs. These beautiful ladies will be performing - and I am definitely looking forward to hearing more. Have a listen - enjoy!

I'm Going to Selfiebration at the Expo!

QOD #25: Have you found your fit?
This is an open-ended question.
This is a funny video - enjoy!
Video credit: not sure where the video originates. I found it on Facebook courtesy of a friend and it came from a Public Figure's page.
